I never understand why BA ranks ballplayers (Rafael Rodriguez) that have yet to play a single inning of professional ball? I guess BA likes Noonan. I like him, too. I'm going to keep a close eye on Fairly this year. Supposedly, he is a five-tool player that can play center field.

In two years we will have a big need for a center fielder.;)

I look forward to seeing Noonan, although it says he may not flash the power for Utley comparisons to hold up!! Utley would still be great without power!!

I am not so sure about that. Without the power what makes him any better than any other second baseman?

I checked out Kevin Pucetas' and his career pitching line is 32-7 W-L, 2.34 ERA, 266 K, 67 BBs in 342.2 IP over three seasons. I was like "Wow!". So I was puzzled why he was rated so low (#15). He's already 24 years old and just about to enter double-A ball so I sure that is the main reason he is not ranked higher.

I have read that he is the first one that will get the call if another starter is needed. This guy will be with the Giants within a year or will be traded in my opinion.

Where did you read that Pucetas would be the first pitcher called from the minors?

He was an option for #5 until they got Johnson, why does this surprise you?
You think HR is the only way to be great Bear? Look at Utleys page. Avg, obp, 2b, sb%, this kid can make an impact without the long ball

No I did not say that! I said power set him apart from other fine second basemen. Without power he is just one of many.

TM52,

Do any of the scouting reports stand out in your mind? Hopefully, I can get the Prospects Handbook soon. This will be my eighth one! :beerbang:

Ehire Adrianza, #6 behind Noonan, he is considered the top infield prospect(not sure why they put him behind another infield prospect). Ill post his report

Despite missing half of the Arizona league season with a broken foot, Adrianza ranked as the circuit's best middle infield prospect, thanks to his defensive wizardry and his ability to make contact from both sides of the plate. When Triple-A Fresno was thin on infielders for a series at Tucson, he was driven over from Scottsdale and promptly collected three hits. Adrianza has excellent range and plays gold glove caliber defense up the middle. Even Omar Vizquel, who was in Arizona while rehabbing his knee, commented on Adrianza's soft hands and accurate arm. A natural righthanded hitter, he has a level swing and balanced approach from either side. He has gap power and doesn't try to just slap and dash his way on base. Something of a late bloomer, Adrianza only recently began adding strength to his lanky frame. He's not as fast as most shortstops, though his excellent instincts and first step quickness make up for that shortcoming in the field. A full season in low class A at age 19 should be a good test for Adrianza's skills and durability. Though Emmanual Burriss had his moments as a rookie last season, Adrianza has a higher ceiling offensively and defensively. Free agent pickup Edgar Renteria figures to be gone by the time Adrianza is ready.

How does he sound to you all?

He sounds like a talented by raw prospect. Low A ball is a long ways off from the majors. But I will definitely keep an eye on him.

Roger Kieschnick is a guy who may be good for power in the bigs eventually.
