8 years $180 million reasons to sign the line!! This is a huge upgrade for the Yanks over Giambi and the rest of the 1st baggers!! Does this and C.C. win this division over the Rays and BoSox? I hate to say yes and maybe the title! :banghead:

Yeah I'm sick of this crap.
And people wonder why baseball isn't what it used to be. In spite of all that happens and the Yankees missing the playoffs last year baseball needs a salary cap to put some semblance of order into the damn game.

Winning the AL East head-to-head against the Red Sox and Yankees, winning the American League pennant, and playing in the World Series is not "real" enough for you? ;) One of the key players for the Rays is LHP David Price. He made his debut late in the ' 08 season and worked out of the pen, though he is a starter. He's stuff is filthy. He's the kind of guy that can be a perennial Cy Young Award candidate. I'm not convinced the Yankees are for real either. They have major question marks with their starting pitching and Jeter and Posada are clearly in their decline years of their careers.

I agree with you all, this is gonna be a knockout drag down fight!!:boxing: I am rootin for the Rays, they still have room to improve and do it from within instead of spending a god awful amount of money to fill holes!! Lets see which route works next year!

The question which has yet to be answered: Was Tampa just on a roll; a team that put it all together for that magical season or are they just Tampa? I know they have a lot of young guys but you're gonna have to do it more than once to convince me. I'm just gonna wait and see and root against them.
:mouse: I hate those feel good stories.

Hmmm, I dont think many rolls last the entire season for just a feel good story team, especially when they had a previous high of 70 wins in an entire season. In that division you dont get lucky, you dont roll into the series and not be for real. If they struggle against and lose out to the sox and Yanks, it will be because those teams went out and got the pieces to improve!! Unlike the Giants, ya Randy(I just raised your teams average age) Johnson.:nono: BFD!!
